I’ve been working out a lot lately. I do strollerfit practically every day, we just started using the muscle bar .  The bar has 5 lbs of weight in it, and you attach a resistance band to it (we have always used the resistance band) but this makes it a more difficult workout. I like it. I definitely need the challenge.

and I just started training for a 1/2 marathon. I’ll be using this training program…unless I find something better soon. the event is almost exactly 12 weeks away, so it works out perfectly. So, tomorrow I’ll be running 2 1/2 miles. Got to start doing it…no escaping the fact…and the calendar doesn’t lie. I can’t just say…oh, I’ll run tomorrow. If I don’t train, its really going to suck!

I do promise to post pictures of all the quilts and stuff that I’ve done lately, and just haven’t gotten around to do it.

I also promise to not go completely dark after today. I’ll post again…soon, I PROMISE!!!!!

Lots of laundry and picking up and throwing things away, and then while the boys napped I worked on brandon’s robot quilt. I made the binding AND attached it. I really dislike doing the binding on quilts…small OR big. The only bright spot is that when the binding is done, it’s done. It came out great, but I didn’t have a chance to take a picture yet. I’ll do it tomorrow

Made a vegetarian lasagna tonight for dinner. Dorothy won’t touch it with a 10 foot pole, but ate 2 bowls of buttered pasta. All the kids were so tired tonight, they were all asleep by 7:30. Good times

And boy do I mean little. I’m doing a handmade holiday this year, for several gifts. I’m almost done with a quilt for my nephew, I finished dorothy’s quilt last week and have a blanket to go with it. I made a tiny dress for Morgan tonight. It’s the first ever price of clothing I’ve ever made.

The weight, that is!

As you know I do strollerfit almost every day, starting this past Monday, all the strollerfits in the area are having a contest, ‘fitness takes no holiday’. From now until new years, the person who goes to the most strollerfit sessions gets $50 credit! So far I’ve been to 3 out of three classes offered, and I’m going again tomorrow morning.

I know the blogosphere is bursting with ‘happy thanksgiving’ messages today, and I’m going to add to it

right now David has Dorothy and Adam at the turkey trot, Reid and I were supposed to be there, but we’re nestled into the house this morning because my baby is a little sick. His fever seems to have broken, and I’m hoping that he’s on the mend. Its a beautiful morning, and should continue to be a beautiful thanksgiving here in florida.

Today I’m thankful for so many things,  my hysterical and amazing kids, my thoughtful husband, our health, a roof over our heads, and our loving and supportive families.

We’ll fry our turkey later, and raise a glass in thanks, and enjoy the meal with David’s parents.

in my family for thanksgiving we make something called carrot love. its a carrot souffle. but it is soooooo goooood  it is the love of the carrot.

CARROT LOVE
2 lbs. carrots boiled (baby carrots)
6 eggs
2/3 cup sugar
6 Tbs. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder
1 – 1 ¼ sticks margarine
For Topping:
½ cup crushed corn flakes (Quaker Oatmeal would also work)
½ cup chopped nuts (optional
)6 Tbs. brown sugar
4 Tbs. melted margarine

Puree carrots in food processor, add the next six ingredients.  The soufflé can be prepared the night before without the topping and kept in the refrigerator.  Then put on the topping when ready to bake.  Bake 45 minutes to an hour at 350. Serves 10-12

Today I went to have lunch with dorothy at school for thanksgiving. I was so excited to get to do something like this alone with her. So often I have the boys in tow, so then even a special event for dorothy ends up being about the boys. So today Kathy  stayed with the boys while I went for lunch. Dorothy was so clearly thrilled to have me with her…by myself.

all the kids were wearing pilgrim hats, and they made headbands with feathers for the parents to wear. So the Pilgrims and the Indians had lunch together today.

I made an apple pie today, along with cranberry sauce and I also put together the carrot love that I”ll bake tomorrow. Soon david and I will measure the turkey and how much oil we’ll need (oh, please let me have enough, Please Please Please) and then we’ll be ready for tomorrow.

and air conditioning here in florida. What the heck…its thanksgiving, and I don’t want to have my AC on any more! But, alas a cold front is supposed to blow through on thursday, which would be good, because we have the turkey trot 10 K, and it would be  no fun to run that in 80 degree heat.

oh, I had big plans for naptime today. Shower, blog, do dishes, possibly some laundry and then knit.

that so did not happen. I showered, checked the internets–never got to blog, and adam was up and screaming. I got him and instead got to do an hour and a half of snuggling while he napped on my chest.
